Officer of the Year

CLINTON POLICE DEPARTMENT
Officer of the Year
2016

Salah O'Neill

Officer of the Year 2016 Detective Salah O'Neill

The Clinton Police Department is very excited to introduce our 2016 Officer of the Year, Detective Salah O’Neill.  The award is based on an officer’s work performance that best exemplifies the police department's core values of Integrity, Professionalism, Respect, and Teamwork.  It is a prestigious award within the Department because the nominations come from the officer's peers and then is selected by a committee of past officer of the year recipients.

Det. O’Neill started with Clinton Police Department in 2006 and this was his second time winning the honor. Det. O’Neill earned the distinction of Officer of the Year for the first time back in 2008. In his current capacity, he works as the fraud investigator for the Police Department’s Neighborhood Improvement Team (NIT). Det. O’Neill investigates embezzlement, identity theft and financial cases among others. One of Det. O’Neill’s most important roles is being a mentor for the young police officers.  Det. O’Neill exemplifies what is best about law enforcement officers.
