In addition to the rigorous testing of the Larkins Facility's effluent discharge, the DWQ Surface Water requires that we sample and test the stream state at locations upstream and downstream of our point of discharge. Our sampling stations on the run of the Big Coharie are the crossings of Five Bridges Road and Fayetteville Highway. This data collection provides an additional confidence indicator that the integrity of the stream state is high. Parameters such as dissolved oxygen levels, temperature, most probable number of fecal coliform colonies, and water conductivity are recorded on a frequency prescribed by the Division of Water Quality.
