The City of Clinton operates a State Certified Program generally between the months of May - September. Our primary chemical used for mosquito control is Resmethrin.
Spraying schedules revolve primarily around rainfall as a mosquito requires very shallow and non-moving waters to reproduce. The crews have five control stations around the City where mosquito counts are constantly being monitored. These mosquito counts not only tell us when to spray, but also how effective our spraying efforts have been.
Citizens can greatly help control the mosquito population by keeping old tires, buckets, and barrels away from their homes and emptied of standing water.
Mosquito Information
Our staff has found a very common association with the infestation of rodents. More often than not, a dog or other pet is being fed outside the home and the food bowl is being left filled. Rodents will not be present unless there is some form of dependable food source.
