Copies of police reports are needed for many different reasons such as insurance purposes, legal purposes, or proof that the incident was reported.

Whatever the reason is, it's very simple to get a copy of a police report. You can stop by the Clinton Police Department and pick up a copy of the report M-F, 8am - 5pm.. To request a copy of a police report, you can telephone Mrs. Betty Faircloth at (910) 592-3105, you can write a letter, or you can email records@cityofclintonnc.us and request a copy.

To process your request, we will need some information from you. We will need to know the date of the report, the names of at least one person involved, and the location.

There is $0.25 fee for a copy of a police report; however, those requesting a report by mail must send $2.00 along with your return address.

It takes about three days to process a report from the time the officer takes it. This means if you filed a report on Tuesday it would not be ready for you to get a copy until Friday. You can send a self addressed stamped envelope by mail to the Clinton Police Department, Attention Records Division, PO Box 986, Clinton, NC 28329. If you have any questions, please call Mrs. Betty Faircloth at (910) 592-3105.
