Role of the Planning Department
In July 2004, Sampson County contracted with the City of Clinton to provide county planning services. The Clinton-Sampson Planning Department is dedicated to serving the citizens of Clinton and Sampson County through planning, development, and zoning practices. Mary Rose has been PlanningDirector of the Clinton-Sampson County Planning Department since 2011. Mary began her career in the Clinton Planning Department as an office assistant in 1995. During her time in the department, she has held the positions of Development Specialist, Planner, and, most recently, Senior Planner. Mary holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from Campbell University and she has completed the UNC School of Government’s Municipal Administration course.
