To become an officer with the Clinton Police Department, you must meet the following qualifications:

1. Must be a citizen of the United States
2. Must be at least 20 years of age
3. High School graduate or equivalent
4. Must be North Carolina certified peace officer (B.L.E.T.)
5. Pass a criminal history / background check
6. Pass a physical examination and produce a negative finding on a drug screen provided by the City of Clinton
7. Must pass a psychological evaluation provided by the City of Clinton
8. Possess a valid North Carolina driver's license
