Every year more than 6,000 children and adults participate in activities at Royal Lane. We host between five and ten athletic tournaments every year, showcasing the park’s athletic fields and amenities to thousands of visitors. The part-time Maintenance Worker will be a valuable member of a recreation team dedicated to providing exceptional leisure opportunities for all ages in safe and inviting facilities. The successful candidate should have the ability to operate a variety of equipment to perform grounds maintenance including mowing grass, trimming shrubs & trees, etc; assist with horticultural practices such as fertilization and planting; perform minor construction and repairs on recreational facilities and equipment; and establish positive relationships with citizens. This position may perform some custodial duties as necessary.

This position works closely with and under the general supervision of the Recreation Director to plan, organize, and facilitate athletic programs. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership and organizational skills in order to select, promote, train, counsel, and discipline supporting staff. Effective communication both orally and in writing will be necessary, especially to establish and maintain effective relationships with children, parents, coaches, city officials and staff, partner organizations, and the public. This position requires knowledge of the principles, practices, regulations, and methods of athletics and recreation; basic computer program and operating skills; and the willingness to work varied work hours in various environmental conditions.
Requires: Graduate from a four-year college or university with a degree in recreation administration, sports management, physical education, or related field; two years of athletic programming and supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certified Parks and Recreation Professional preferred. Must have certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED or ability to obtain within designated time set by City. The Clinton Public Works & Utilities Department is seeking a Water Production Operator to assist with the operations, maintenance, and laboratory responsibilities to produce and provide a safe and adequate supply of properly treated water for over 4,000 residential and commercial accounts. We use ten wells to produce 2.2 million gallons of water a day to provide safe drinking water for more than 10,000 people. Over the next two years, the city will be doubling its water production capacity. We value competent, skilled candidates with a service focus to work in a team environment.
The Water Production Operator will be a critical member of a public utilities team dedicated to providing exceptionally clean and safe water to all the city’s customers. The successful candidate will observe and test wells and water storage tanks including collecting lab samples and performing standard analyses on raw water, filtered water, and finish water. Tests may include chlorine, iron, pH, fluoride, and manganese to compare readings to standards. The operator will also be responsible for monitoring and maintaining various chemical feed systems and their levels; processing the necessary chemicals to sustain appropriate levels; reading, recording and organizing various charts, graphs, gauges, and meters to compute data accurately on a daily basis. Will performs standard repairs and maintenance of plant equipment, site maintenance, as well as maintain clean environment. Considerable knowledge of state laws regulating water purification and standard procedures, general knowledge in plumbing, electricity, chemical safety, math, science formulas, and computer skills a necessity.
Requires: High School diploma supplemented by a college-level chemistry or biology course, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Possess a valid NC Drivers License.
