  A Welcome from the Mayor

Hello, and welcome to Clinton, North Carolina. It is my privilege to introduce you to the historic county seat of Sampson County. Incorporated in 1852, Clinton is named for American Revolution General Richard Clinton. Today, residents and visitors enjoy a beautifully renovated downtown, tree-lined streets, and historic homes.

Clinton is a city of beauty and opportunity whose leadership is dedicated to providing its diverse citizenry a quality of life unsurpassed in the region. You will find a friendly and welcoming community where neighbors come together to support one another. Our residents enjoy the quality of life that comes with excellent schools, outstanding healthcare, a growing economy, and a strong community spirit. In 2007, Clinton was recognized as an All-America city. I am confident that you’ll find so many reasons to come and fall in love with Clinton.
